No. We formed a strong partnership with LigoLab in 2014 and have worked closely with the LigoLab team ever since. The LIS company has consistently met our needs and always welcomes collaboration on new developments.
How complex was the implementation process? Did LigoLab provide adequate LIS system support?
The implementation process isn't difficult, but it does require time and focus. Because the LIS system is highly customizable, its effectiveness depends on the effort you put into configuring it to meet your specific needs. For us, full implementation took about four to six months. Throughout that time, their team worked closely with us, including significant on-site time to ensure our success. My advice for a smooth implementation: make sure your team is fully committed and not juggling other projects. Dedicated focus makes a big difference.
Did the LIS system integrate seamlessly with your existing laboratory software systems (analyzer interfaces, laboratory billing solutions)?
Yes. There were no issues with any of our instrument interfaces or our client and lab billing interfaces. At the time of implementation, we were using separate lab billing software. A year after going live with the laboratory information system module, we also switched to LigoLab's laboratory revenue cycle management module. We now have a seamless laboratory workflow management process that allows us to use the LIS system and front-end lab RCM tools, including demographic checks, address validation, insurance discovery, and eligibility verification.

Yes.

Yes. The team delivers regular updates and actively collaborates with us between upgrades to support ongoing development and customization as needed.

Would you recommend this LIS system to other labs with similar needs?
Yes, and I've also given several presentations to others highlighting the efficiencies of their LIS system platform.
What were the biggest benefits you experienced after implementing the platform?
We've seen a significant boost in efficiency. Our team reduced accessioning time to just a quarter of what it was with our previous LIS system. When we implemented LigoLab at a lab we acquired two years ago, the impact was immediate. On the very first day, we went from rolling over 200 or more specimens daily at accessioning to zero rollovers. That improvement allowed us to shorten shift hours and end the workday earlier. We also experienced marked improvement in our molecular LIS lab workflow, and the cytology workflow is by far the most efficient we've ever used.
Did the LIS system improve lab efficiency, productivity, and profitability?
Yes.
Were there any unexpected downsides or challenges you encountered?
None that stand out.
Do you consider LigoLab to be “value added” or “value for money” in your organization?
Absolutely. While it may not be the least expensive LIS medical solution on the market, it's a classic case of getting what you pay for. We've used the LIS system for nine years, and the lab RCM module for eight. I recently renewed our contract for an additional three years. No other solution delivers this level of value for what the system provides.
