LigoLab Introduces LigoLab Voice for Hands-Free Pathology Workflows

GLENDALE, Calif., [September 23, 2026] - LigoLab, the leading provider of unified laboratory information system (LIS) and laboratory revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions, is excited to unveil LigoLab Voice, a hands-free dictation and workflow control feature for pathologists and grossing technologists. This latest platform enhancement is integrated into LigoLab’s laboratory information system module, enabling users to document findings, navigate the system, order stains, and receive spoken feedback as they work.

Voice Control Where the Work Happens

LigoLab Voice builds on the speech-to-text and voice navigation capabilities already embedded in the platform, where users can dictate directly into result fields, trigger macros, and navigate key workflows using natural speech.

At the grossing station, hands-free interaction lets users dictate specimen descriptions and control supported LIS functions while remaining focused on specimen handling. Documentation becomes a seamless part of the workflow, reducing the need to interrupt tasks to use a keyboard or mouse.

The same advantages extend to the pathologist’s workstation. Users can dictate findings directly into reporting fields and navigate between screens, cases, and specimens using voice commands. These capabilities are already integrated into LigoLab’s Grossing Touchscreen and Microscopic Result Manager environments, supporting more efficient interaction throughout the diagnostic workflow.

LigoLab Voice builds on this foundation by bringing dictation, navigation, ordering, and spoken responses together in a unified, hands-free experience designed around the daily workflows of laboratory professionals.

From Dictating Findings to Ordering Stains

Voice-driven stain ordering is central to the LigoLab Voice experience. Pathologists can request stains using natural voice commands within the LIS workflow, seamlessly connecting the decision to order additional work with the system action required to initiate it.

This capability extends voice interaction throughout the case workflow. From the same interface, a pathologist can dictate findings, navigate cases and specimens, and order stains without repeatedly switching to manual controls. At the grossing station, technologists can similarly document specimen details and interact with the system while remaining focused on specimen handling.

Spoken feedback makes the interaction two-way. In addition to entering commands and information by voice, users can hear system responses as they work, helping them confirm actions and receive information without interrupting their workflow.

Together, these capabilities create a more continuous, hands-free working experience: speak, act, receive a response, and move seamlessly to the next task.
