• Grossing Touchscreen: A straightforward and intuitive user interface for grossing technologists to record critical information about the specimens they are processing. The anatomic pathology LIS application, best used with a stylus, is designed to work seamlessly with barcode scanners and label printers, enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.

• Histology Work Log: A detailed audit of specific histology actions performed during processing (from grossing to blocks and slides).

• Error Tracking: How “workflow actions” can be applied to any entity (a specimen, a lab order, and a lab report are the most common) to identify issues that address them as the specimen is processed.

• Case Assignment/Distribution: The automated distribution of pathologist cases in a fair, balanced, efficient way based on factors like licensure, specialization, customer preferences, case weight, and caseload. 

• QA & Statistical Reporting: How to run stat reports based on specific entities, how to access and distribute them, and how filters can be configured and saved as search templates.

An interactive Q&A session followed the tour, with Allison fielding excellent questions from a very interested group that included current LigoLab users and other potential customers who were getting a first look at LigoLab’s laboratory information system software solution.

Does your LIS system utilize CAP (College of American Pathologists) templates for anatomic pathology software reports? 

Yes, LigoLab integrates with the CAP templates. 

Regarding the case assignment and distribution feature, when can this assignment take place? 

The LIS system is extremely flexible, and case assignments can occur any time during the lab workflow. For larger labs, a devoted queue is the best option. 

How does the LigoLab platform work with voice recognition/dictation? Is 3M Fluency Direct compatible with LigoLab? 

Yes, the laboratory information system software is compatible with all voice recognition software. Most of our current customers use Fusion Narrate and Dragon Dictation Software. 

Which EHRs (electronic health record systems) can LigoLab integrate with for bidirectional order and result exchange? 

The LigoLab platform can integrate with all EHR systems. We've never encountered a laboratory software system we couldn't integrate with.
