LigoLab Case Study: Take Back Control of Your Practice with LigoLab's Sub-Licensing Arrangement
April 4, 2024
Los Angeles, CA – The President/CEO of a fast-growing lab operation has partnered with LigoLab to provide a laboratory billing solution for physicians around the country, allowing them to take back control of their practices through the shared use of LigoLab’s comprehensive Laboratory Information System (LIS system software) and Laboratory Revenue Cycle Management (lab RCM) platform. LigoLab CEO Suren Avunjian recently announced the details of the partnership.
“The lab needed an anatomic pathology workflow (anatomic pathology LIS) and a new laboratory billing solution to position its partner laboratories for aggressive growth in the marketplace,” said Avunjian. “We had them up and running on our laboratory information system and laboratory billing solution in a week. The group was motivated to go live quickly because they already had contracts in hand and customers to service.”
Avunjian said the CEO realized early on LigoLab’s vision for empowering labs to grow and thrive through one complete LIS software platform. Right away he saw the potential to grow his business quickly and extend his business model to his customers by taking advantage of LigoLab’s client-friendly sub-licensing agreement.
LigoLab (in Latin ligo means “to unite”) permits its clients to sub-license to their customers the full capabilities of LigoLab’s LIS system and lab billing platform at no additional cost. This means that LigoLab clients have the ability, at their sole discretion, to offer LIS system and lab billing capabilities to their customers.
This sub-licensing agreement has enabled the CEO to approach large pathology groups, who by partnering with him and using the LigoLab platform, can take back control of their practices.
“I have an 18-physician pathology lab that I’m about to sign,” said the CEO. “In a partnership such as this, they can start to put the revenue back into their own pockets instead of it going to big industries such as hospitals and big, corporate labs.”
“If you look at how the scales are tipped, it’s medical device companies, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and big, massive labs that are making the money,” he continued. “Physicians are trying to do anything they can to stay alive and it’s not easy. The goal behind this is to help drive money back into a physician’s practice.”
Additionally, the CEO is currently in discussions with other large physician groups thanks to the capabilities within the LigoLab platform.
“It’s a very technical LIS system, and it has a ton of capability,” he said. “You’re able to customize the laboratory information system software the way you want it and it’s very scalable. We’ll be at triple the volume of specimens a day in six months, so we needed to have the power and the capability behind our LIS system to be able to do that.”
“His lab provides the lab billing service and the first line of support and training for his partner laboratories. We provide all of the LIS system tools, support, and the know-how, and he’s out there rolling out the platform,” said Avunjian.
LigoLab LLC is a thriving business in Los Angeles that specializes in laboratory information system software licensing for pathology and clinical laboratories, no matter the size. LigoLab competes with the giants of the laboratory industry thanks to its unique pricing model and its all-in-one laboratory information system (LIS software) and lab revenue cycle management (lab RCM) platform.
